01-HCT-VTH-MGR, HOFNER VERYTHIN GUITAR, METALLIC GREEN TOP, LIMITED EDITION, BLACK BIGSBY, BLACK HARDWARE & CENTREBLOCK

This special edition guitar in Metallic Green, features a genuine black Bigsby vibrato unit, centreblock for increased sustain and black hardware.

Born in 1960 the Hofner Verithin guitar was developed to appeal to the many beat groups that were appearing across Europe as Rock ‘n’ Roll took the imagination of youngsters everywhere. It was created to give the player a lightweight stylish guitar with an ultra thin body (just 1.25 inches) no deeper than the average solid body guitar while still providing the tone of a semi-acoustic. Hollow bodied, with twin pickups it soon became a favourite of bands in Europe. Original models were finished in a dark sunburst and were fitted with the Höfner control panel but this style soon gave way to the famous cherry red finish and 4 rotary controls. Verithin was the model name used only in the UK, in the rest of Europe it was the 4574 model. Many variants were produced over the years, including a bass version. Today there are several models of the Verythin available including the bass. The model name was changed from Verithin to Verythin in the 2000s.

Verythin Limited Editions

Limited Editions of the Contemporary (HCT) model are produced each year for those guitarist who are looking for something a little different. Most of these are fitted with a Bigsby vibrato and also feature special lacquer or paint finishes.

The 01-HCT-VTH-MGR is a limited edition of the famous Höfner Verythin guitar. Based on the original classic guitar body shape from 1960 with the body depth of only 1.25 inches the Hofner Verythin was extremely popular with groups during the 1960s beat boom era. This special edition is finished in Metallic Green with black hardware, features a genuine Bigsby vibrato unit and has dot fret position markers. The Hofner Verythin CT not only captures that unique 60s sound but also has the ability to produce tones ranging from deep gutsy blues through to cutting distorted rock. At Hofner they achieve this by fitting a centre block in the body to produce more sustain, deeper tones and less feedback.
