A fresh look at the key assets of good internet marketing: 1. A ‘workhorse’ website capable of delivering demonstrable value to its owners: it must be credible, fresh, content rich, optimised and measurable 2. A qualified email database – email is still one of the strongest outbound marketing channels available to any business; 3. The generation and publication of non-sales related digital content – it’s the fuel for your website and all social media (as long as it’s useful content and not marketing orientated).

Businesses and organisations hoping to extract value from the internet, whether that be more ecommerce sales, more members, or more social media followers, must see themselves in the business of publishing firstly, and selling their goods or services secondly. Today it’s about demonstrating your subject matter expertise online via quality, branded content which is easily discoverable, readily consumed and worth sharing with others.
